HOWEVER, an enterprising tuner could have a spigot welded to the (removed and cleaned....) plate, and make the necessary TB gasket...... |

That's 55th party hearsay......... |

He was a great asset and taught us a lot. |

For those needing the intake gaskets/seals, definitely go to NAPA. I paid about 17 bucks for all 8 seals as opposed to $7 for each seal from the dealer. It was a Fel-Pro set and the NAPA part number was MS93313. |

Pull the intake bolts and loosen the plenum clamp. Make sure the PCV vacuum hose is clear. Lift the intake about 40 degrees at the accessory drive end. Pull it out of the plenum. |

Once I put it all back together however it ran very rough when I started the engine. I plan on pulling the intake again and see where I might have messed up somewhere. |

It's also possible you knocked one of the intake gaskets off center. They're reusable. Also, make sure the air intake piping from the air cleaner box past the MAF is properly installed. An air leak after the MAF really screws things up. There's also a PCV hose to check and check the overpressure relief valve in the end of the manifold. |

The PCV hose is the hose that goes to the inner/center of the intake right? If that's not connected right could that cause the engine to run rough? |

The overall air/fuel mixture is compensated for the bleed, so if the hose is disconnected you get a vacuum leak, same as if any of the rubber connectors are disconnected from the throttlebody or the valve(s) they control. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
