MAX Wheel Size for Deville with Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I'm wondering if anyone has wheels > 17'' on a deville equiped with the tire pressure monitoring system. I believe vogue tyre will currently only install 17'' or 18''. There is an option in the DIC that allows you to turn off the tire pressure monitor warning which I'm sure would be necessary with 20''+. I'm thinking the monitor inside the tire would also be too vulnerable with a 35 series tire. I've seen new devilles with rims as big as 22'' which leads me to assume people are either removing the sensors or not worrying about crushing them. Anyone out there have some experiences to share...

Re: MAX Wheel Size for Deville with Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I'm glad to see somebody finally showed some interest in putting plus size wheels on a Deville. All of the posts in this thread mostly deal with problems/fixes. I've had a few problems myself in the last couple of weeks but I'm taking it in stride. I wish there was a bit more balance in the Deville thread. Problems/fixes as well as experiences with wheels, tires, mobile video, performance, appearance, ... any mods in general. Where are all of the happy Deville owners?

Re: MAX Wheel Size for Deville with Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I'm looking at putting some 20's on my 03 black/black Deville. Kinda concerned about the acceloration loss, braking, and tranny wear. I use it for long trips alot. Maybe 19/18's would be better. I'd rather not have to upgrade the brakes.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

You can put up to 22's but then the moniter would have to come out, no question. 20's would be better for ride and Im pretty sure even then the moniters would have to come out. 18's could probably keep the moniter but im pretty sure that it would be inacurrate. Hope this helps.

Re: MAX Wheel Size for Deville with Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Hey everyone I was wondering about the tire pressure monitors myself. My buddy has 20's (I dont know the tire size but it is NOT a 35 series) on his 04 escalade and he was able to keep the monitors on his ride. I am buying Giovanna Barbados 20x8.5 with some goodyear 255/35-20 size tires (which equates to 27" dia, same as factory) and was wondering if anyone had any luck with this. A buddy of mine mentioned strapping the monitors in?? Anyone know of anybody using 20's with the TPMS System, if so could you share how they installed them? Does tire size matter?

    Thanks in advance!
