    Stealth mode ...mwahahahahha

No more noises , its a big day here for me , after 7 months of ownership every sweak rattle and other noise has been cured , waterpump 2 days ago and todays powersteering pump (5 hour job due to wrong tool to press pulley back on) after a new pump and some bleeding and flushy flushy its all very quiet

next month is strut time , shell be paid off and hopefully no more "service suspension soon" after the body module amputation

if anyone ever does there 4.9 powersteering pump rent the tool from the store to press a new pulley on , dont use the stupid bolt nut and washer kit that comes with the pump , i fought that thing for 2 hours before i got the tool from the store , got the pulley on and in one minute

Thats great, the only noise I get from mine is that damn powersteering pump too. What was the noise that yours was making, I get a constant noise that changes as you turn the wheel.

mine was a consant groan noise that didnt change with turning the wheel but made its noise relitve to engine speed , i call it the "4.9 noise" but no one ever knows what im talking about

i found out for sure today when i removed the belt and moved the pulley in a up and down motion , bad bearings ... but it seems end play (in and out ) movemnt is not a issue

i consicered rebuilding the pump myself ( ive done way too many gm steerpumps) but in this case rebuild kits werent availible and i would have had to replace all parts inside anyway

the sound mine made was something like a high pitched electirc can opener

I used to love the noises my power steering pump would make sometimes. Stealth mode for me is all the lights off, thanks to manual lights, and using the e-brake that doesn't lock up. its fun for scaring the **** out of people.

I'm getting a couple of noises. I'm getting one that you can hear turn on and off. I'm pretty sure its one of the electric fans on the radiator. and just yesterday i was getting another noise that sounded like it was comming from on the left side of the engine. It sounds someone what like the fan noise but its constant. Its either the fan because the engine was hot enough to probably need the fan on for a while... or its my powersteering pump. It had beter not be my water pump. Had that replaced with all labor for about $380 and its guranteed for life. The water pump isn't 3 months old.

When you figure out how to prevent that damned message "Service Suspension Soon" from showing up, let ME know, will ya? The whole thing has given me fits for 2+ years. I got parts from the dealer with my shocks and struts, but they don't tell you exactly how and where these parts go, so...

Glad to hear the PS pump replacement went well. The tool I rented from "Auto Bone-heads" to do mine was pretty pathetic. The bolt and nut that came with my pump actually worked better.

Has anyone ever had a problem with their radiator tower leaking? I think it is oil, but I cannot tell exactly, and it comes from the tower right next to the rad cap that is fed from one of the hard lines below.
I did a terrible job describing it, but if anyone can decipher what I said, I'd appreciate some input.

    Re: Stealth mode ...mwahahahahha

since the message is such a widespread problem when i tackle that job i may take full photos and do a web page on it

my only issue that i cant do on the strut replacement is getting the old springs on the new struts , i hate compressing springs so ill farm that out to midas or something to have everything installed and aligned , thataway i can devote time to the electrics

on the rad i would say that would be one of the tranny cooler lines , those bungs hace a tendancy to leak sometimes , maybe time for radiator replacemnt

i have a parts store/machine shop right up the road from me that will mate the old springs to the new struts so that will be one less thing to worry about.
