Lumbar switch, 02 Deville

The lumbar switch is bad on the passenger side. I know it's the switch because if you press real hard it works. Also the driver side did the same thing, but that was repaired under Warranty. Well my wife can't press the switch hard enough so it has to be replaced. I looked at it and I remember when the driver side was replaced, the dealer had to keep the car an extra day because they broke something getting the old one out. So..... how difficult is this job?? Anyone out there ever do this? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Is this switch in the side of the seat? The trim panel should pop out. The dealer keeping it an extra day does not indicate a tough job, just tough luck.

Re: Lumbar switch, 02 Deville

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the switch is on the side. I tugged at the trim panel and was afraid it would break. That's why the dealer had it an extra day. They broke it getting in out and had to order a new trim piece. I guess I could try it with more force. If it breaks I'll just have to buy another trim piece.
