| Re: Tranny issue - 93 DeVille I've had the same problem. That fuse blows, and from a stop, the transmission feels like it's slipping terribly. ***The transmission and A/C clutch are both on that circuit. It is the A/C clutch worn out and slipping. I didn't believe that would cause too much cirrent through the fuse and blow it. I then manually jumpered the A/C clutch. I used an ammeter to measure the current. Normal current is approximately 5A, which I observed when the clutch was working properly. But when the clutch began to slip, it would climb as high as 20 amps. To verify for yourself in a simpler way, run the car all you want with the climate control set to ECON. Not long after you turn the system back to AUTO, using the A/C, the fuse will blow. Still investigating it this compressor clutch is sold as a complete unit with compressor, or separately. |
