1993 SDV No codes show BUT

I followed the directions to get the codes, ignition on, press the 'off' and 'warmer' at the same time. All i got was, "Auto Off---Hi Fan", where the codes are supposed to be. But to the left of the speedometer above the brake light the 'service vehicle soon' and 'service engine soon' lights both come on. When i clear the codes which i don't get, both lights go out. I repeated this four times with the same results. What's wrong??? Thank you

The codes don't come up on the climate control panel - they display on the Fuel Data Center. It will start out with 8.8.8 and end with 7.0; in between are the trouble codes.

Simultaneously press and HOLD the OFF & WARMER buttons.

All it says there is 7. and stays like that. I thought it meant how many gallons i have in the tank but i know i have 12 gallons. I'll try it again tomorrow, i have the service manual and it says something about 7. but the book is hard to understand unless you're an engineer which i'm not. Thanks for the info, Hank

Press and hold "Off and Warmer" and all the lights should flash on the dashboard, the service engine/vehicle lights will stay on until you either press "auto" to exit diagnostics or kill the ignition.
