brake fluid switch problem message 1994 Deville Concours

I have a 1994 Deville Concours. A "brake fluid switch problem" message comes up intermittently (more often recently), usually followed by an ABS amber light, then after sometime the brake message goes off, but the ABS light will not until restarting the engine.

What could be wrong? Could it be just a faulty brake fluid sensor? I

f so, how much cost needed to replace it?

Never heard of that one before. The abs light could be the wheel speed and abs sensor, and you have to replace the hub and bearing assembly with it. I wouldn't mess around and wait for something to break, you definetly need to get that car to a mechanic. Are your brakes acting funny in anyway?

I had the "low brake fluid" warning on the information center once on my 94' Concours. The fluid level was correct and it ended up being a dirty connection. I pulled the plug from the sending unit and shot some contact cleaner on both ends. I have never had this message again. If the unit needs to be replaced more then likely you will need to buy the resivior tank that sits ahead of the master brake cylinder. I doubt this would be an expensive part as it is just the plastic tank for the brake fluid. As far as the ABS light I am not sure why that would occur. I have also had a code for "brake light switch fault" which did cause a traction control error message. This swich is one of two plunger type switches under the dash that activate the park shift interlock, brake lights, and suspend the operation of the traction control when you press the brake pedel. If the ABS light is off after one ignition cycle it is not a reoccuring problem. My guess is it is not a speed sensor. A speed sensor fault has it's own series of codes and I have never seen one that displays a message about brake fluid. I would first check the connections at the brake fluid resivior for loose contact or corrosion and see if that corrects the problem.
