| Re: 93 deVille exterrior door handle I have the 93 Deville FSM (Factory Service Manual). There is a wire hooked up to the outside door handle. I don't know if this the related to the courtesy lamp feature, but it looks like it.
To remove the outside door handle:
- Glass must be fully up
- remove trim panel
- remove water deflector. This is secured to the door inner panel with pressure sensitve tape located on the outboard surface of the deflector. This allows the deflector to be peeled back as needed to service door components.
- remove rod from the latch
- remove wire connector
- remove screws
- remove handle
It could be that the wire has fallen off or is corroded. After you have the handle off, a couple of simple tests will determine if it's the switch, wire, or something else.
Good Luck. |
