Lightbulb Hook me up with some sanding pads!

I'm getting ready to wetsand the Brougham, and I need some help. Apparently 3M makes 1500-grit 5" sanding pads for a random orbital sander, and I want to get a hold of a few! .......or is this a horrible idea? I've checked a bunch of auto body sites and the people who sell them only sell the 50 pack. What am I gonna do with 47 left-over sanding pads?

Brian, I admire your determination. as along as you are undertaking this project as an experiment, you will be fine, you have to learn somewhere. go to a local body shop, ask them for a few sheets, they use a ton of them, you will need more than 3 sheets anyway if you are doing the whole car. what type of buffer are youusing? when you are done wet sanding, you will need to polish the day lights out of it. Thank you! I'll actually be having a body shop buff it for me, since I don't have a variable speed buffer at this time, and I can't afford one. I'll check around and see if anyone will give me a few pads. I have a few weeks to check around before I have another break to do the actual wet-sanding.
