    Grill fitment question.

Does anyone know if the grill form an 04 Deville / DTS will fit into an 01 Deville / DTS?

How different are they if at all?

That's what I'm hearing. 00 to 05 are the same. That is such good news for me it's not even funny.

    Now I'm on a mission.

    Re: Grill fitment question.

So, big guy - what type of grille are you hankerin' over?

I really liked the black grille that the Concours had for my year (1997), so I waited and picked one up on Ebay for 40 bucks. Since I also prefer the newer wreath/crest, I put one of them in the centre portion.

I know it clashes now with the hood ornament, but I plan to remove that one when I get the car repainted.

    To each their own.

    Re: Grill fitment question.

Frost, That looks great. Yes ditch the hood ornament.

So you didn't catch that out of all this talk LOL. Here's the story. I was flipping around the Vogue website when I realized they offered a wire mesh V style grill for the Deville. This set me spinning. I then came up with a plan to create a DTS-V.

After talking with the folks at Vogue they told me that the wire mesh grill was only available for 04 and newer. So I was depressed for a few days trying to find a fabricator that was capable of making one, as the material is readily available.

Then I started thinking about some minor modifications if necessary. SO you can imagine my joy when I heard this news. The project is back on.

I am going to create a 2001 DTS-V This will be done over time due to budget constraints.

    Re: Grill fitment question.

Sounds intriguing. I don't know why Vogue says things like that. For example, they will claim that a rim they make is only available for the 1999 Devilles - when I KNOW they will also fit the '97s.

    Strange way of marketing.

Your project bears watching closely, codewise. please keep us in the loop with lots of pics, eh?
