    Wood Trim Swap?

I have a 1999 Cadillac Deville base. I hate the cheap plastic wood and want to replace it with the real deal wood out of the D'elegance Deville. Is there a part number or anything for this wood? I looked on GM Parts direct and can't find it and I Googled it and I get a whole bunch of cheap stick on wood trim stuff. I want the real wood just like in the D'elegance. Is the swap possible also? I don't wanna buy the wood and then can't even put it in.

No, your base 1996 Deville also had fake wood. All 96 Base models had "wood grain (fake)" trim.

    Re: Wood Trim Swap?

You're telling me what my car had?

Look, I don't know if it was standard, but I know mine had real wood. It was the Zebrano stuff, and was extreamly easy to scratch.

    Re: Wood Trim Swap?

It could very well have been real wood Ben -if you weren't the first owner, anything could have been done to it - the Concours for '96 came with real Zebrano, so perhaps it was a refurb done from the Concours into your base Deville at some point in the past.

For some reason I can't post any pics of my interior, but the real wood that I spec'd for the wood dash kit comes really close to he ftake stuff already on the car. Thank Christ for that, too as I didn't relish hunting down the Concours parts to complete the "look"!
Well, whaddaya know - it worked!

    Re: Wood Trim Swap?

I guess it must have been a kit, I was the third owner, so who knows. But the first two owners really didn't seem like the type to give a crap about woodgrain. But I know it was real.
