when I clean my spoked caps (80 cdev) is there a clear coat product that I can spray or apply for protection that does not require wiping down? (lots of spokes to hand wipe). Tnx Ken

Keep them clean and waxed, synthetic waxes will last a long time and hold up to the heat.

After cleaning I would use either of the two products to polish (I have and use both products):
Griot's Garage No Scratch Chrome Polish is the best I've used on chrome that is in excellent shape:

Mother's Chrome Polish is excellent polish too, but I give the edge to Griot's:

Regarding sealing your wheels, as others have said the use of synthetics is good. Here's an interesting interview with the inventor of Wheel Wax (I have not yet tried this product):

Wheel wax has carnauba wax in it, it works ok but does not last as long as a true synthetic product.

From the interview link I posted above:
Question: For readers unfamiliar with your product, what is Wheel Wax?

Answer: Wheel Wax is a soft polymer, not a wax, that makes your wheels easy to clean, prevents brake dust build-up and produces a bright, protective shine. It cleans, polishes and protects all in one step.
