    My latest painting spree...

I couldn't even get all the pieces into the picture. They were originally the dark blue interior, but I decided to update the interior with the same color scheme the outside of the car is using. I intend to add carbon fiber in place of the wood trim.

I'll post up pictures of the pieces installed tomorrow if I can get a break from the rain, or Wednesday if not.

Nice job on the painting. You paint the outside of cars too?

Well, I thought about it for a long time. Real wood is expensive and I don't like wood all that much to begin with, aluminum is played out on luxury cars and econoboxes alike, but carbon on luxury cars generally works out very nicely.

I guess it's all in the personal preference.

    Not other people's cars, no.

In the last pic you can see where I'm going to put my gauges when I get them. A/F Ratio, Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, and probably some kind of AFC as well.

You can also see where I didn't do a very good job on painting the vents

    Re: My latest painting spree...

As an update, I've got the dash cluster trim out of the car right now. I was thinking about putting black marble on it, but it proved to be more difficult than it was worth. Now I'm thinking about going with the same color of black as the rest of the interior pieces for the pieces, and making my gauge panel and painting it as well...

What do you guys think? I'm running out of ideas here. It's like 3:30 in the morning and my brain is starting to hurt from staring at these pieces.

    Re: My latest painting spree...

question... what type of paint did you use? and how did you apply it. i am looking to repair the vinyl in my car, and i think it'd come out a lot nicer if i had the orig paint color so i could fix, flatten, smooth, and then paint over the repairs to "hide" them. any suggestions?

I used Krylon gloss black to paint the plastic pieces. I really have no idea about repairing vinyl, sorry. But I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to paint it.

I painted plastic pieces. Vinyl is supposed to be colored with dye I'm fairly sure.
