    Patching Paint 99 STS

What started out as a small rock chip has grown into a nasty 3 inch long spot on the front of my hood. My STS has Pearl White for the color. It looks like the actual paint is more of a powder with a clear coat over it. I was wondering if anyone else has ever done patch work on a Pearl White car and if they could give me some pointers. Or is it really just as simple as sand, prime, paint, and clear coat? Also, any ideas where I can find the matching paint and clear coat it would have on it now from the factory?

White Diamond is three stage paint my friend. Nearly impossible to match with a touch up kit. You actually have a gloss white base coat with the white diamond 2nd stage or 'pearl' coat. Third stage is the clear coat. I'd suggest you look into having the hood repainted by a REPUTABLE painter. If not, the scratch will look better than the touch up job most likely. Good luck...
