How to maintain a caddillac !?

I often hear of people that say their cars have only seen water once in it's life,
with a car that has over 30000 miles. How do they keep their cars clean without washing them,

I own a corvette and a cadillac and i was wondering how i could keep them clean without washing them, because in the long run it will have less rust if i don't wash them as often.

Whats the best way to maintain a car like the day you bought it,or almost in a showroom condition

    Thanks

I wonder if they mean "rain" when they say "water".......

Keep it garaged when not using it.

Serisouly, that is perhaps the single best thing you can do for a car... my car sits outside and the paint is starting to show that.

second best would be to always keep a coat of wax on it... atleast wax it once a month.

rain/water alone will not do much, I woudln't even worry about it... the guys that just spent $50,000 restoring their favorite 50's car do not want to drive them in rain, but really, it wont do too much....

I don't have room to keep all 7 of mine inside, so my 2 classic cars and my wife's '04 Bravada stay inside and my Seville has a car cover on it, paint looks new!:coolgleam

depending on whats in your water just wash it. theres probably LSC (low salt content) or no salt in your water from your tap. salt is what rust the car not the water. so water with salt will rust your car.

but i hear you when you dont want to get your car wet. i live in arizona and rain is the least of my concerns.

but the SUN is what really kills my car, the uv rays have killed my top and paint in the past. so i keep them treated. the car cover keeps the uv rays off so thats good.

thanks for your help, i keep my cars garaged ad they are in a show room condition, like the day i bought them. I've always believed in giving them a good wash, i'm glad to hear that it causes no damage.

    thanks
