    Hood ornaments

Would anybody here know where to get a "Longhorn" hood ornament? I am looking for some and have found one made by GEM "toro" but I am looking for one that is longer, to the sides.

    Re: Hood ornaments

    Hi Esteemed Caddy Community,

This is truly one of my dearest
topics ;yet, I am unable to provide
    any worthy reply and/or meaningful
    input.

Sorry if I sound dumb ;but, B-ON-B-LAC,
are we really talking about a custom made
    hood ornament?
Do you have a picture or a reference, so
as to provide us with some idea as
to where you got your concept?
Alternatively, is the well informed PD4ME
correct in regards to his meritorious
inquiry as to whether this is some Texas
thing. If it is, did you see it in a movie?
In any event, you gotta have big balls to
be sporting big horns on an already
    outstanding Ride.

Hahaha, this reminds me of that King of the Hill where Hank has to drive that Caddy Convertable and wear a cowboy hat to try and act "Texas" for the Boston investor.....good episode. Anyways, post what you find, I'd be interested in looking at it. This is Minnesota, so I can't put horns up, but maybe antelers.....

    Re: Hood ornaments

Yeah Im fo'real "Y'ALL". Nah man I do realy want some of these, I am from Texas, D-Town. I am talking about the old school one types, I know Ive seen a couple way back in the day. I remember I seen one on a lac about 10 yrs ago round here. But I been looking and cant find Sh!t. Im customizing my car a lil bit, Its not my blac-lac, (i gotta change my name) I got another 96 Deville (Damn I said I wouldnt get another Lac, 3rd one) kinda pewter but we added a lil pearl to it. Got some vogues, and some 20s. I just added a billet grill and I think them Horns would really set it off, HELL YEAH I gotta represent for Texas. SO any help will greatly be appreciated.

here in the northwest, my friend and I found a skeleton of a deer. we were going to take the skull and ducttaped it to his subaru, but it was still decomposing, so no.

my friend has a skull of a bull, a real one. ive set it on my original ornament before with perfect fit...but just to see if it fitted..wasnt going to let some skull sit on my perfect paint.

    Re: Hood ornaments

Hello. Those longhorns is something i also would like to have, and be able to put on the front of my Fleetwood Brougham -76, not all the time, but at especially occasions.
Anyway, i tryed to look up "longhorn" on e-bay a cuople of weeks ago, and get some hits, but those longhorns were designed to hang on the wall or over a fireplace, but you should be able to change them to work with the car. I did not bid on any of the horns, since i live in sweden, and i wait until i hopefully can do a trip to USA and buy it there and then. someone asked about a movie were you could see this fantastic things on some cars. For many years ago did the american soap "DALLAS" aired in sweden, and in the "intro" of the episodes(when the signatur melody played) you could see a caddy conv. with longhorns. I'm not sure, but it is possible, that in the first "SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT" movie, there were also a caddy conv. with longhorns.
I hope you find what you looking for.

    Re: Hood ornaments

fleetwood76 is right about "Smokey & the Bandit" but I didn't remember horns on a Caddy in "Dallas."

I do remember Boss Hogg's Cadillac had horns in "The Dukes of Hazzard."

Same night, same network, different show.

    Re: Hood ornaments

My friend had a set of chrome bull horns on his 94 Grand Marquis. It was without a doubt one of the ten most rediculous things I've ever seen done to a car, that totally convinced me he ain't running on all 8 cylinders . I think real bull horns on a Texas Caddy (not fake chrome ones on a New York Mercury) is pretty cool. I'd imagine you could find them somewhere on the internet, even ask around Dallas, I'm sure somebody has them around there.

    Re: Hood ornaments

    Esteemed Caddycommunity,

I saw the Dukes and Boss Hogg's
horns just last night, and the horns
were pretty undersized. I think B-on-B-Lac
is intent on Pimpin' hard. Accordingly, I suspect
that he wants a much more magnificently sized
pair of horns, like the horns on that CSI
show where the challenged migrant farmhand
was murdered by the culprit who assaulted him
and in doing so caused him to land on the
hood ornament of the ugly truck involved.
Now those were some big assed horns!

I have often considered mounting longhorns on my Cadillac. Maybe it would be a bit much. What do you all HONESTLY think? I'm very tempted.
