    Good DA polisher

Looking for a good DA polisher, but do not want to spend a lot. I have been looking at auto geek.com. Would like your suggestions/recommendations.

I can't recommend a brand of DA, but it would be best to get one with forced rotation.

Porter Cable 7424 XP, got mine at Detailed Image. I've had outstanding results with Lake Country orange/white pads and Meguiar's 105/205 compounds.

Same - and it all came from AutoGeek, except I use their XMT swirl removers in 3 different grades (1, 2, 3) depending on what I'm working on. Last year they had a blowout on Lake Country pads and I went online crazy.

    It's www.autogeek.net - not .com

As with most detail supplies and work, there's an art to using a DA. Get the Autogeek DVD of polish, wash, detail, swirl removal. Pop a brew and watch.

I come up through a family of auto paint & body family and know how to use a buffer but I fund the the PC 7424XP is better than a buffer. It is by far safer for an amatuer to use than a buffer especially on older paint.

The Porter Cable is a great machine. I went with the Rupes Big Foot and am very happy with it. I went through the complete paint correction starting with the clay bar and ending with polish. I sealed my paint with a sealer from Gary Dean and my car looks like it has glass over it. I learned a lot during the process and had a lot of fun with the project.
