I recently bought some touch up paint for a few scratches on my car. One on the bumper and one on the trunk. The scratches are not real deep, but they're to deep to be rubbed out without sand paper. So I bought a bottle of matching touch up paint, and I'm not sure if I should do anything before I apply the paint or after to get the best results?
Deep handwash, Clay, Cut Cleaner, Polymer Wax in that order
use Meguiar products or Mothers, if it's angel hair scratches this will reduce most of them, but take your time, use an orbital polisher around 200rpm when applying the cut cleaner, and get tons of microfiber cloths.
If it's deep enough that it needs touch up paint clean the area before you put the paint on. You don't want wax or anything else under the paint. Touch up paint almost always shows, especially if the paint is metallic.
