Removal of tree sap from a convertible top / 96 Eldorado

Any tricks to remove tree sap from a convertible top on my 96 Eldo Coachbuilders?

Top is newer and there is a spot of sap right in the middle...

I got all the sap off the cars body, i just dont want to ruin the top.

Try to scrape it off as gentle as possible rather than use a chemical that may stain the top. If the sap has hardened it will just flake off.

i have a convertible solara and the same thing happen to me. i just got a blow dryer and used it on the spot until it was cooked and then it just came off in one big blob. give it a try before anything else because you dont want to push the sap deeper into the fibers anymore if you dont need to.
