    Rock chips on CTS

Got a few rock chips on the front lip of the hood on my 08 CTS. Has anybody used touch up paint to fix these? Does it come out looking good if you take your time? I want to do it myself but so busy. Considering taking it to detailer to fix. Any idea what something like that would cost. There are only a few chips but my CTS is Raven Black and it is very noticible. Thanks in advance

    Re: Rock chips on CTS

    SoCal,

I have a Raven Black STS and had some simliar cosmetic problems. I think you are in luck, because this is the easiest color to touch up. I got a bottle of touch up at AutoZone, it was just a generic black, I didn't even try to match a color number or anything. I got one with a "ball point" tip (and a brush). This was the first time I have used the ball point tip and I must say that it worked beautifully. You can really control where the paint is going and how much is going on the car. The difference was amazing. From just a few feet away the touch ups are completely un-noticeable. Obviously, I won't try this on a restored classic trailer queen, but for your daily driver, it's the way to go. I now give it a good going over about one a year. It doesn't take that long, go ahead and give it a try.
