As many of you know, I filmed a DVD on detailing over the summer, It was professionally done by Panorama Studios based in sunny CA. I was mailed the first tape over the weekend to watch and give feedback, all I can say is it turned out great. I share ALL my secrets on this disc, and I;m excited that soon it will be available. I may take pre orders soon, stay tuned for info on when it will be released. gary

Re: Detailing DVD/ soon released

Speaking of dressing, I have an interior question. How do we know what's leather and whats not? I mean if we put leather cleaner on vinyl will it hurt anything?

Re: Detailing DVD/ soon released

I doubt it would hurt anything, codewise, but it may not get it as clean as the proper product. I feel that vinyl cleaners are a little harsher as they are designed to clean plastic while for Leather, I tend to go more for conditioners with aloe, vit E, etc.

I wouldn't use vinyl cleaners on leather, but the other way around (leather cleaner on vinyl) probably wouldn't hurt. It may not help either, but i doubt it would hurt.

Re: Detailing DVD/ soon released

Codewize, I think you are using my products right? the leather cleaner can be used safely on plastic, vinyl, leather etc. as far as dressing, I will try to clarify. first off, dressing can and should beused on molded plastic, vinyl, rubber. I know its hard to tell the difference with interiors, so here is what you can do. clean and condition the leather seats, dress everything else that looks like leather ( on the doors and such) plastic and vinyl. here is something most poeple don't know, you can also dress leather, some people will dress it AFTER they condition. here is what happens, dressing sits on the surface, which is what you want with plastic and vinyl anyway, you need to condition leather FIRST to bring the oils back into the material, that keeps it from drying out, if you dress leather after you condition, you give added protection. the dressing will wear off faster than the conditioner. my opinion is you don't need to dress leather, but for the record if you do it by mistake, you won't hurt anything, hope that helps. Gary
