    Re: Chrome Strip

I just want to chime in here. I don't know the answer to the question but I'd like to share my opinion. I obviously don't think it looks bad because they do it on the standard DeVilles. However the lack of chrome is part of the Concours package.

Adding the chrome back on would be like buying an STS or a DTS and removing the body color rockers and putting the black one back on. Your degrading the car back to it's base form. Just like the painted grills. Standard model gets chrome and higher end models get painted. I think it's kind of backwards personally but it's more custom I guess.

I know you didn't ask for opinions on that but I wanted to share my thoughts.

I think it will fit, but then you won't have skirts! which IMO, make the car.

    Re: Chrome Strip

I don't see why they wouldn't, as previous posters have pointed out, the Concours is just an upgraded Deville anyway. Regardless of whether or not it should be done - that is your car, so it's your call.

BTW, you can have skirts too - I've seen them on base Devilles with that chrome strip. Don't know if they were aftermarket or not, but they do exist.

    Best of luck.

    Re: Chrome Strip

You've seen base Devilles with skirts? how would concours skirts fit a base Deville? On the base Deville, the chrome strip over the back wheel sort of has a cut out for the wheel opening, where as the concours dosn't, so how could a skirt fit the same?

Yeah you guys are right. It is like downgrading it. But the thing is that it doesnt stand out as much as the base model. Yeah I do have weird idea like one time I wanted a 1930s Cadilla/LaSalle hood emblem but my friends advise me not to. whell Here the pic.

    Re: Chrome Strip

E&G Classics make the fender skirts, if anyone's interested - at least for the '97-99 Devilles.

As for that hood ornament, I think it looks terrific - too bad the lines of the '94 prevent it from showing it's full potential. Besides, some smart-arse would steal it anyway - and damage your hood in the process! Nowhere in the interior it could be put to good use, either - too big.
