Post SLS versus STS - Different body?

Hey all,

I'm looking into buying a Seville -- but don't know whether to choose the SLS or the STS. The only difference I can find is that STS is rated at 3000 horsepower. (I already did the comparison on Cadillac.com). Is there a difference in the bodies? Or are there any other differences that I should consider. Having 275 horsepower is plenty for me and I don't know if I should just save the money and get the SLS.

Thanks for any input.

The STS has 300 horsepower, not 3000 - at least until the quad turbo Sixteen engine goes in.

The SLS (Seville Luxury Sedan) has lower horespower but slightly higher torque than the STS (Seville Touring Sedan), a smaller ratio rear axle, and a softer suspension. That's about it, except some '02 and all '03 STS's have the Magnetic Ride suspension while none of the SLS's do. The bodies are identical. Early STS/SLS had slightly different bodies than the more recent ones (changed in mid to late 90's?).

Simo, I just went through the same debacle as yourself when wondering about the Seville's.

The SLS and STS are the same car, different trim levels. The main differences have already been stated: tighter suspension, different gear ratios.

The big thing for me though is that the STS is a higher trim level, and it means that some stuff that's optional on the SLS is standard on the STS- so you get more.

Check out http://www.edmunds.com for a good overview of the differences, and also for pricing- they have this True Market Value thing that hits the mark for the used market. I picked my Seville up on eBay for $19,500 to my door; Edmunds said I should of paid $21k. (-;

All in all, shoot for getting an STS if you can do it.
