    Red brake calipers, anybody got pictures?

    Thinking about painting them red on my black 05 STS. Anyone else done this? Any opinions?

    Here is my front (2006 STS V8)

    I did this over a year ago and they still look fresh, vibrant, and crisp. By the way, I did not remove the calipers to paint them. I masked and sprayed, and did a final touch up with a brush. Four wheels, two hours work. The letters were applied (laser cut) a week later.

    nice job. you did a great job masking, any tips? im looking to do the same red on my EXT. where did you get your particular caliper paint? did you sand down the cals good or what?

    Sorry I have not answered sooner - I wasn't following the thread.

    The paint is caliber pint at Autozone. They have other colors. They have sparay or bottle.

    Masking is tough. I have since found the calibers come off with two mounting bolts accessible from the backside. Hold the caliber by a coat hanger wire, not the brake line. Cover the disk area, clean well, and spray. I got the letters from an eBay seller. These ads pop up now and then. The letters have held fine, and the paint does not seem to hold brake dust.
