MOTH ball SMELL!!!

Remove this ad
My '76 Coupe was mothballed for quite some time in NH.

Is there any GOOD solution to getting rid of that smell!? I have been told to just air it out during the day and in the sunlight...but when you work 5 days a week and the weather is not conducive to that idea...what else can one do?

I have heard that "activated" charcoal works, but what would I do with it?

Re: MOTH ball SMELL!!!

Get some large bags of the charcoal, open them up and leave them in the car for awhile. They'll absorb most of that odor. There's also a product made by Meguir's that supposedlt works on ANY smell - but I haven't tried it on moth balls. Finally, check with your local fire department or insurance company and see what (who) they use to get rid of smoke/burnt odors in a house that's been torched.
