Trunk Emblem Insert Question

I have a 1984 Coupe Deville and would not mind to replace my faded trunk emblem, I just wondering if this plastic insert that is "curved" would fight my car trunk emblem. It looks like it would, but just to be sure. (If the image attachment does not show here is the link

The one on your trunk is flat. And it just sticks on with silicone, so that probably wouldn't stay on for long.

I need a new one on my '83. I took mine off and painted it, it came out good as new but the stuff I used to stick it back on melted it .

you could probably paint yours though.

Yeah the red is a little faded, how would i get to the inside to paint? pop the plastic off? also what paint? (model paint at wal mart?)

Just thought about it also repainting the faded center emblems on the hubcaps? Don't these also fade out alot?

I just popped it off and used model paint. (Testors brand). It's just held on by 23 year old silicone, so a tiny screwdriver and a little patience and it will pop off in your hand.

Your '84 has the metal center caps right? You can just paint those too.

But then be careful about what wheel cleaner you use.

What's behind that pastic, the part that needs paint? Also what would be good to put it back together, an adhesive spray or what type of clear clue glue? ( I just need to ask a ton of questions before I go and make a wrong move and break it)

You paint the back of the plastic. Behind that it's just flat chrome. re attach it with 100% silicone. It will all make sense when you take it off.
