ABS is technically better, but I have fiberglass ones and their fine. As long as you don't get into an accident it really doesn't matter.

Are the holes marked to drill on them?

Yes, their roughly marked. Although it helps to have the originals, just to double check.

I would guess the plastic ones won't last quite as long as the fibreglass ones, mine are steel which is nice, but I think they stopped making steel fillers after 1970. Either way I'd guess the plastic ones should last you 25 years or so.
