    Warranty Help

Hi all, I'm pretty new to this forum but I really need some help. Summer 2012 I purchased a pre owned 2010 Cts Wagon with about 40k miles. I know most things are in warranty but I received an email stating it's time for scheduled maintenance. Is this included in my warranty or will I have to pay for whatever they do? How can I find out the cost if any?

    Re: Warranty Help

"Scheduled maintenance" is normally the responsibility of the owner and includes such normally consumable items as engine oil, filters, brakes, tires, air filters, spark plugs, etc. The maintenance you asked about is noted in the rear sections of your owner's manual - a simple call to your local GM dealer can get a ballpark price question - as always, worn parts or damage uncovered during "normal maintenance" may or may not be covered by a vehicle warranty. If you document it, scheduled maintenance may be performed by a local shop without affecting a warranty - but keep your receipts and paperwork - GM can get snitsy if you go to them later with problems. If you are a regular GM customer, the amount of e-mail and post card "specials" and "discounts" you receive will keep you busy each week. (I am NOT a GM rep or dealer - I'm a GM owner)

The CCC reps will chime in here also.

    Re: Warranty Help

    Welcome to the forum, Michelle!

Submariner is correct -- the "Scheduled Maintenance" portion of your owners manual (page 11-1) is a great resources for concerns such as this, and I'm also available via email at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com whenever you would like me to investigate your questions further. Your GM dealer should indeed be able to give you price estimates, and if you would ever like any assistance working with your dealer, I'm also happy to help with that! If you don't have a dealer you normally use, then I can also locate all the options in your area if you send me your zip code.
