Elizabeth, I purchased my 2008 Escalade EXT in May 2009 I think and yet according to Onstar my factory warranty will expire February 02, 2011. Could you help me with this issue my VIN 3GYFK628X8G211363.
Breanne, the reason I posted this was because I purchased my vehicle, 2008 Escalade EXT, new from Williamson Cadillac in May of 2009 and according to the dealer that is my in service date on my service documents. I am wondering why my bumper to bumper warranty is being cut short a year. I should be receiving bumper to bumper warranty until May of 2013. Can you please explain this to me?
Looking at your VIN, I am showing that the warranty start date/in service date is 2/11/2008, not the date which you purchased the vehicle. The warranty must have began in 2008 because the dealership owned it for that year. So, with that in service date the warranty will end 2/11/2012. You will have your powertrain warranty until 2/11/2013. You could contact your dealership about why their documents would say that your in service date is different.
looks like the car was originally delivered to Devoe in Naples ... they did the PDI
Williamson did the first warranty work 5/2/2008 (284 miles) for a horn problem.
so 2000 seems right...
next warranty work was just over a year later 5/12/2009 (1,259 miles) for a floor console trim replacement.
-- what doesn't seem right is that the warranty start date (in service date) is 2/11/2008 but the PDI wasn't done until 5/2/2008
i'm not sure how you would go about fixing this discrepancy (or if it even is a discrepancy) but the sooner you get it done, the better
it does seem to me like you bought a used car, not a new car... possibly a dealer demonstrator?
maybe a talk with your selling dealer/salesperson is in order?
Rippy, what do you suggest I tell the salesperson/general manager because when I bought the vehicle they advertised it to me to be a new vehicle however the only thing was when I financed my lending institution made it a used car for financing purposes due to the fact that the car was not of the current model year (MY2009). The dealer will probably tell me that I bought the car knowing it had the mileage. Has anyone ever experienced this before and how did they fix it?
