So...the dealer alegedly lubed my new rear bushings and the noise is back with a vengance. This thing creaks and groans like an old U-haul truck. I am not sure how I missed this on the test drive. Do the brand new '06 and '07 cars do this? I know what you are thinking...turn up the radio...but I can't when I have passengers in the car...especially clients. Other than that...I love the car. Someone said Spectre bushings take care of the problem, but I hear those will take care of your diff warranty too (not in a good way). I'm going back to the dealer for more work, but I know they are going to squeak again after they lube them. Does anyone have any ideas or fixes that I am unaware of? Is there a fix around the corner? And Really...are the new ones this loud? Mine only has 22k on it so it isn't eactly old, but I can't imagine that the new cars leaving the lot like this.
I depends on what they lubed it with. Good graphite lube should hold up pretty well and quiet them down, but if they just blasted some White Lithium grease (or the like) in there, it's going to squeeze out and creak like hell.
I know this is ridiculous to say since we're talking about a $50k car, but I've made lubing the wheelhop bushings part of my normal routine in the garage. It takes a creeper (or towel) and 2 minutes.
I'll have to visit the FAQ to see where the culprits are located. Not before I give the dealer one more shot. They were quiet for like 100 miles and now they are even louder. *chuckle*
Well..what is different about these that is different from those on a new CTS-V? It can't be the mileage. Do the cars coming off of the lots have this problem? They couldn't. I'm not trying to b!tch (well I am so that I can pick your brains) but this is...well...embarassing(?). I guess I should see if the part numbers for the fixed kit resonate with the bushings on an '07?
Are these updated GM bushings polyurethane by chance? Poly bushings and anything petroleum based = creak city. If it was me i'd score some of the lube that comes with the energy suspension bushings and lube them up. I couldn't fathom them creaking with that on there, its the nastiest lube on the planet. Takes 3 days to get it off your hands
Specter = Delrin bushings. http://www.spectergtr.com/performance.html
These high strength delrin cradle bushings help eliminate the aggravating axle hop when launching and power shifting the car. Detailed installation instructions are available. Cradle Bushings: $250.00
Had the TSB bushings, still had hop and squeaked like crazy after only a few hundred miles. Ordered Spectre bushings about 3 weeks ago and still waiting on them. Hopefully no squeak and less hop.
