Anyone Purchase R.O.A.D. InTire Coverage?

I have 30 days to decide whether to purchase R.O.A.D. Intire tire and wheel coverage on my 2009 CTS-V. The cost is $995 for 5 years. They say they pay off on curb rash as long as you say you hit a pot hole. Somehow, I don't think it's that easy. I not only don't worry about the tires, but based on my history with the 2004 V that I just traded, I'll bet I'll be in a different brand of tires within the first 15,000 miles.

So any experience and any opinions.

I did not get ROAD, but some other policy. it was $300, and has unlimited instance benefits for destroyed rims and tires. So, the rim and or tire has to be completely messed up to be covered. road rash not covered. Too bad, since my wife curbed one of the wheels- two inch long, less than half an inch wide.

I forget what mine was called but I got the tire/wheel warranty on the V1. 5 years for $500. I figured since that was about the price of a new F1, it was a no-brainer...

Re: Anyone Purchase R.O.A.D. InTire Coverage?

I bought the $499 5yr. tire and rim protection when I got my car. Seeing as a new rim will cost you ~$700, and a new tire is about ~$450, I felt it was a good deal. As it turns out, I had to use it just 2 months after getting the car. I was going around a tight bend at about 60MPH and found a nice big pot hole. Ended up getting a new rim and tire out of it. Was a completely painless experience.

Your price seems a little high, but if you plan on using the stock wheels and tires I would encourage it. Murphy's law says if you don't get it you will need it. And vice versa

I bought the package the dealer was offering. I forget how much it cost. Turned down all the other extras though.
