Entry/Exit settings in DIC

Can anybody explain how the Entry/Exit Setup and the Entry/Exit settings features work? I like the idea of the seats and steering wheel retracting when I open the door to get out but I don't like that they return to their original positions when I open the door to get in. I need the seats back or I hit my head trying to get in. It is easier to get in a new model Corvette than one of these with the seat up in the driving position. I have fooled around with the settings and all I get is frustrated. Help me out here guys. thanks
Mike

PS: I have the factory seats not the Recaros.:

Re: Entry/Exit settings in DIC

If you had expressed this complaint to your dealer, he would tell you that everything is operating normally and your complaint was not the first he had received. I, too, have this problem, and there is, as far as I know, no resolution. Rather than wait until the permanent "key" is turned and then adjusting the seat and steering wheel, as my 2004 and 2005 CTS-Vs sometimes did, it is done when you open the door. Stupid, huh? This is not what the owner's manual says will happen, but this is not the only thing that is incorrect in that book.

My solution to this problem is to set the programming for no changes when the driver door is opened. I then use the button on the door to set the driving position. When I exit, I use the exit button. Since the programmming is set for no change when the driver door is opened, it remains in the exit position until I get in and push the button, ususally number 1, to set the driving position. My wife's 2008 DTS works exactly the same way. I complained then and over a year later nothing had changed.

Re: Entry/Exit settings in DIC

that is exactly how you have to program it. Forget the auto adjust feature when you open the door - unless you are very fast at
getting in, or very tall and the seat can stay waaaay back for you!

Re: Entry/Exit settings in DIC

I just have it set to retract when I open the door and the when I get back in hit #1 and every thing sets to my driving position. My M6 worked very well.
I open the door when outside and everything retracts. I get in and start the car and everything returms to the driving position. I can live with the V setup. it just took some getting used to.
