| Re: NAVSYS Help...What a NIGHTMARE!!! There is just no reason to bash the V2's GPS. I hope that you get this glitch fixed. I suspect it is something gone bad in your car, and not in all V2s. Hopefully, reprogramming will solve it.
I have had GPS on my cars for the last 9 years - Mercedes and Lexus. I find the V2's GPS equally accurate - that is to say, most of the time it gets it right. One must never surrender common sense to the GPS, however, so sometimes I make an executive decision and override the turn commands.
I did have to have the dealers reprogram my GPS in both the Mercedes and Lexus when they acted wierd. The Lexus at one point whacked out and had me in the next state, for no apparent reason.
The V2's integrated traffic reporting (received through XM signals) is extremely nice to have. That wasn't even an option on my cars in the past.
I also personally like the option of what I call "view from the cockpit" which simulates a 3D view of the area up to the horizon. My Mercedes and Lexus GPS didn't have that option.
Finally, if the area you are going to doesn't show up on the GPS database, there is always the option of calling Onstar and having the route downloaded. |
