Honestly, I have never had to pay (subscribe to) for a site or change my browser just so it could run on my machine(s) at a reasonable speed before this one. If it were not for the quality of the information that I can only seem to find here on my vehicle, I would probably spend a lot more time at a place that did not place such a high priority on its advertisers.
Just my .02 and no offense intended. This is the slowest site on earth. |
No offense taken. The problem lies where there are very few automotive forums as busy as this one with the lack of regular advertisers that we have. For example, corvetteforum.com or ls1tech.com - scroll down the page and see the endless list of advertisers along the entire side - to nearly the bottom. If we had that type of advertiser participation - we could get rid of ALL the "network" type ads (doubleclick, for example) that slow the site down.
It's the network ads that slow-down page loading but they're desperately needed. Those of you who turn them off with browser plugins are hurting the community - but that's your prerogative. Supporting members don't see the "network" ads and have a much faster browsing experience. Supporting the community
only costs a few dollars and helps keep us running and moving forward...
