I Took Delivery of My 09 CTS-V with Recaros. Pics Posted!!!

My CTS-V came in yesterday! The window sticker arrived a day prior. Those who have had window stickers sent should be close to delivery!

I ordered Thunder Gray A6 with every available option. I may have to plug in the engine block heater just to say I've used it.

I will write a full review shortly once I've had a little more seat time, although I did manage 170 on the odometer already.

My initial thoughts:

They weren't kidding when they said 556 HP! But more impressive is the torque.

The car is wonderful. It has a great exhaust note. The suede steering wheel feels great. The Recaros have come under criticism because of their price, but I feel they are a must have and were well worth it. They hold you firmly in place and are quite comfortable. The MR suspension works well. I went over a bumpy section of RR tracks and it just floated over them in tour mode where normally it would be jarring. I haven't played or programmed any of the options yet as I just wanted to focus on driving the car. The Bluetooth connection is fantastic. I made quite a bit of calls and never had a static issue.

As I posted a few days ago, I will be mounting Pirelli winter tires soon. It was 30 degrees here tonight and the car felt pretty good traction wise. The tires do get quite cold when the car sits and they need time to warm up.

The supercharger response is quick. There is torque in almost any gear. I played with the paddles a little bit just to vary the revs on break in.

OMG, Thunder Gray looks amazing. Much better than I expected.

If you don't mind, can you please post a picture of the shifting "paddle" behind the steering wheel? Are they paddles or more like buttons?

Also, I would really appreciate it if you can share your thoughts on the Ultraview Sunroof. Do you hear noises when you go over speed bumps? Do does the car still feel stiff and handles well with the extra weight up top?

It looks fantastic. I agree with you about the Recaro seats. They really make the car complete. As you know, I had a 2005 CTS-V1. The V2 is such a big step up in all areas. It's quite amazing the species has evolved as much as it has from V1 to V2. Don't get me wrong, the first gen car is a great hot rod, but just not the same design goals as the new car. I have to applaud GM for going all out to address so many issues with the V2. Time will tell if they have pulled off what it looks like they have, but it sure seems they have checked off all of the right boxes with this new V.

I am quite jealous, but then I think about my '09 Cyber Gray Z06 with your beautiful Caravaggio seats (thanks buddy) with track upgrades being installed over at Phoenix Performance and I guess I can live a little longer before I take the plung into my own 2010 Cadillac hot rod.

I can't wait to take a spirited romp with you in January.

Enjoy the new ride and get those snows on the car if the white stuff starts falling. We need many more reports as you explore the paddle shifters in sport mode and run it through its paces at Autobahn. I guess the track report will have to wait until they open again in the spring.

Congratulations on having one of the first (if not the first) customer delivered cars. Somehow, I knew you would.

Congratulation Mike,

your V looks fantastic, can`t wait till the two export models arrive here at my dealer in Germany. The export models will be fully loaded and my dealer ordered one in white diamont and one in thunder-gray, not sure which one I take, both colors look good.

I keep my STS V but my XLR has to leave!!!!

Wish I would have had the opportunity to drive one with the Recaros at Monticello. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the seats over an extended period of time.

Now I'll be gauche and ask 'the' question.

After months of speculation by everyone, reports in the car mags and endless predictions... optioned as your new baby is, with all the bells and whistles, . . . what figure ($$) does GM list on the bottom line of the sticker?

Congratulations dude, I can see you picked it up from the cadillac/hummer in libertyville. Thats where i threw down my deposit last week. If i dont mind me asking i'm guessing that you paid msrp correct ? - I got black/black and the first one to order the manual trans so they told me it'll be a while for the manual. Enjoy the ride. Also when you have the time if you could tell us what the break-in procedure is for the lsa supercharged engine. I'm curious how long they want it broke in for.
