Re: Post Pics of Rims That You Would Put On The V

"What about real carbon fiber rims... super strong no weight... Now I just have to figure out how to find at least 10,000.00 of accessable cash..."

Dymag makes Carbon/Magnesium wheels. They are about 2100 each, and are REALLY light. I plan on getting a set for my GTR. I should get about 50-60 lbs in unsprung weight savings. Free up some extra horses to.

For the CTS-V, if you are concerned with shaving wheel weight, I would get the same size as stock. The 19s, will probably shave of 10lbs on each corner. However, I think the stockers will be around 28 lbs, which is pretty light. Remember, you take a pot hole with a set of Dymags, there is a good chance you will crack it and lose the wheels integrity. I would not use these wheels on a DD. There is always so much road construction in my area. I plan on tracking my GTR, so I am not worried about curbing or hitting a pot hole on the track. I will just need to be careful, on the way to and from the track, and on the occasional late night drive.

Changed my mind. 20". Alloy, with a polished lip.

^Doesn't that look like the 20" Sport rim for the SRX?

Re: Post Pics of Rims That You Would Put On The V

The Dymags are crazy light and really cool. The place that does my tire mounting/balancing also mounts for Mosler Motorsports which is nearby (Dymags standard on the MT900 Photon). I have picked up a Dymag box thinking it was a spare box for me to use to ship a rim, but when I opened up the box, much to my surprise, a wheel was inside! I think they are overkill for the track unless you have some serious $$$ to spare. CCW's, albeit a few pounds heavier, are much more durable and repairable.

19" forged Sevas 3 piece rims for me on the CTS-V to save weight and cash. I'll use the stock rims with Hoosiers for the track, that is if my wife allows me since it is her car.

Re: Post Pics of Rims That You Would Put On The V

Anyone know the bolt pattern and offsets yet?

I think the Audi 20" QS Split 10 wheel would look amazing on the V2, if the bolt patterns and offsets are correct, or even find a company that would do a special order for them. Maybe push them to the outside 1/4" to 1/2" from stock, and have wheel widths of 9" or 9.5" in front and 10.5" or 11" in the back, with some dish to the spokes in the rear.

Has anyone ever seen the Rotational Inertia listed for a wheel? It seems nearly impossible to find a weight much less something useful like rotational inertia.

I don't know how the black chrome will look on a Blue Diamond V(photoshop anyone?) but I love these Forgelines...
