HP to the wheels?

Remove this ad
19", bigger tires, and beefier suspension should put the manual transmission close to 20% drive train loss.

Maybe 450 rwhp? That would be about 50 hp off trukk!

Re: HP to the wheels?

Yeah, this was my thinking too, just about what you said, Norm. It all sounds familiar.

In retrospect, the Maggie with LS6 was a good approximation of what was to come from GM with the Gen II.

All things considered, my car would be just below the new V in terms of RWHP but is lighter. I think Gene's (and others) car is about spot on with the smaller pulley. Both of us have been in the 11s with good launches, so if this new car is more stout thru the drivetrain and launches better, that is why I was saying the new V could run 11s with the right driver. But who cares about the 1/4 mile anyway, right?

I think with all the new tech s*** on the new car, it has the potential to be way faster than people think in stock form, with the right tuner....

Re: HP to the wheels?

Does anyone notice that all the advertisements regarding the horsepower on the 09 V say 550+ or 550 est? I have a feeling it could be even more than 550 at the crank. I think the ZR1 Vette could have a conservative hp rating also.....

but perhaps I'm just dreaming.

Re: HP to the wheels?

I would think 465 or more. Most cars loose 15-18%. I am hoping the V is higher than 465, as I am in that range with my current sled.
