Just like the topic said, did GM give an official hint at the 09 V price tag?

csnbc just did a special on the detroit naias and the ticker showed new cts-v estimate to be $60,000. do not know how accurate but that is what they think.

Seems low. I glanced at loaded 08 CTS (non V, naturally), and it had a sticker of $54,000 and some change. It seems $6k more for a V would be a steal. I remember the new 05 V sticker being $50k+ when the most expensive 05 CTS on the lot was $32k (almost $20k more).

What I want to know is how much the proposed coupe will be!

No official word or hints from GM/Cadillac at this point. Only folks guessing.

Re: Couldn't read all the posts-Any official estimate on price?

fyi in the last model, a loaded one ran $43-45k with the sport package, and ours were $52. plus to get to $52k you need awd. i am sticking with 60k. the 6.2l isn't much different then the LS3, except supercharged, and it is a mass produced engine, and cheap. figure 6-10K premium and that is it + a gas guzzler tax which no one has mentioned yet and that will be 2-3k.

I tried this as well and have a hard time getting above $50k MSRP for a loaded 08 CTS. I'm hoping GM is going to price it right around the just announced price of under $58k for an M3 coupe. Yes, the V's target is the M5, but it will definitely lure sales away from M3 buyers if they find out that they can get an extra 130hp/255torque for the same price.

I think it needs to be a close comp to M3 in price and a steal compared to the M5 in order to move the V's to more than just blue blooded enthusiasts.

The M3 Sedan however is in the $54K range I believe.....so shouldn't the CTS-V be priced against that?

Isn't 54m the base price for the M3 and only goes up from there? My understanding is the v has few options to increase the price above base. Recaro seats (that could cost) transmission, maybe sunroof.

I had heard the new M3 will be in the 65-68K range with stuff on it.

Re: Couldn't read all the posts-Any official estimate on price?

I believe the competition is the m5 not the m3. Press and Gm refer to it as the m5 killer. Based upon those comments and the amenities, I believe it will be priced around 70 to 80. Just a guess though.

Re: Couldn't read all the posts-Any official estimate on price?

Cadillac sees the M5 as the 09Vs competition - target market. But that gives the potential M3 buyer in the ballpark of the 09Vs price range. So they could possibly draw both customers from BMW.
