That and a full sweep calibration with the gauges before the engine starts. |

That and a full sweep calibration with the gauges before the engine starts. | Because they wanted to keep the price near $60k. And because GM realized it's ghey.

I have on on the lot with the keyless access. You keep the fob in your pocket and just turn the switch that is where the key would go.
Instead of push button, it is a switch that I prefer. My E55 had the button on the top of shifter. I would always turn the car off by accident. With the switch it will not happen.
So, you don't need a key-just the fob.
Can't wait to have these to sell.

David | I'm ready for a nice "executive driven" 2009 CTS-V
And . . . an ordinary key in the ignition would be just fine with me

What was the last RWD american car that had a big v8 and weighed 2 tons that had a push button start? |

Didn't think I'd care for it / want it in a car. Now that I've had it in the STS-V, it's a really nice feature. Key FOB stays in the pocket and I can walk up to the car and simply pull on the door handle or lift up on the trunk lid and it opens from a locked state. Get in the car and push the start button to go, get out of the car and walk away and it locks. Simply no need to remove the FOB from my pocket or fumble for a key to get in or started if in a hurry. Not to mention the remote start capability as well. |

No offence, but if little things like this are standing out to you, you probably shouldn't be even considering a CTS-V.

They were being inadvertantely pressed, shutting the car off while rolling, etc. They tweaked it a little in the '07 STS, where you had to hold it down for a second or two to turn off the car (before that it was nearly instantaneous).
The '08 CTS has keyless start, you just turn the chromed "key" that's always in the steering column. It works great and it behaves like a normal key... Unfortunately for me, my CTS doesn't have this (due to constraints) and after getting use to it... not having it sucks some major Alcantara click this link (Another shot of the interior).
