With the size engine and the weight of the car, I'm going to guess the auto version will be 12mpg city and 20mpg hwy. Hello Gas Guzzler tax |

I agree with StealthViggen: If you are going to upgrade to a 550HP V and pay 60 thousand plus you need to expect that you will be paying 4 dollars at the pump with limited fuel savings... |

What did the fuel mileage do when Chevy switched from a 6.0 to 6.2L? Is GM using Direct Port injection in the new V, like they did with the '08 CTS. If not, why? Just curious. |

Using the STS-V as a reference, it's a 4.4 ltr SC'd engine and the car weighs approx. 4200 lbs as an automatic. On the sticker it's rated at 12mpg city and 19 hwy. It looks like the 09 CTS-V is going to be close to that weight with a larger base engine. It will be curious to see how they compare. |

It has 550HP and 550lb-ft of torque, if we drive it I think 8-10mpg would be great. If you set cruise on the highway I'm sure it'll be somewhere in the 20's. |

By the time the car makes it into the hands of the owners, we could be at 4.00 a gallon. (Isn't some of the Calif folks close to that now ?) |
