However, to someone uneducated about the CTS they may think it still looks like a key.

SCORECARD! SCORECARD! YOU CAN’T TELL THE PLAYERS WITHOUT A SCORECARD!!!!!!!!
Ok if I read all the above correctly this is what I come up with.
The 09 CTS-V will get the LSA motor not the LS-7 motor.
The LSA, and LS8 and LS9 are all based off the LS3 except that these three engines are all supercharged.
The LSA is estimated 500-525 hp.
The LS8 is alledged to be in the 480hp neighborhood. Maybe a little more.
Look for the top end Camaro to get this motor as well as other zetas. Might even see it in a truck at some point.
LS9 is the 600+ HP monster.
The LS7 is dying in the near future as it is too expensive to build and cannot be Supercharged due to design.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, assuming that the above is all true and correct then I only have one question. What is the difference between a LSA motor and an LS9 motor and can an LSA motor be turned into an LS9 motor without removing it from the car, i.e. is the long block the same?

They know less than we do.

And worst of all, what happens when the battery dies in the fob, and now with no key, how the hell do I get in the car? | My '99 C5 had "passive Entry", which was a little slide switch on the back of the keyfob that would automagically unlock the doors when you came close enough to the car. It was great, but what always pi$$ed me off about it was that it was only half baked - you still had to pull the keys out of your pocket to start the car normally, and honestly where do you want to be pulling the keys out of your pocket - when you're standing outside next to it, or when you've already dropped your a$$ into the driver's seat? Seemed very "half baked" to me, and what was missing was a pushbutton or permanant dial for starting the car.
The way that system saved the keyfob battery was that there was a little piezoelectric motion switch in the key, so if you were moving the fob and the car queried the fob, it would unlock the doors. The cool thing about this (since no Onstar in Vette's until the C6) was that if you locked your keys in the car, you only had to grab it in the wheel wells and shake it and it would unlock the doors for you. I used to leave my keys in it on purpose when I went mountain biking, so I couldn't possibly lose them. only thing I was worried about was it unlocking if someone towed it, but if that happened I was screwed anyway. :-D
I guess they did away with passive entry after only a year or two because of some customer complaints, but I used it all the time and never had any issues whatsoever - it was pretty cool.

The new one probably does to but I haven't had the chance to suffer through it's operation. Since Real Estate is so slow I don't expect to have a chance to try it anytime soon! |

I will say however, that if the new CTS-V sucks balls then I'm definitely getting one.
