I will never understand why the cts-v "HAS TO HAVE 600 hp" so it will be faster than the M5, the RS4, AMG CL657789685, etc etc etc. Who gives a flying f***. If it is cheaper than all those cars by $10k+ (which it easily can be) and is almost as fast, that's a statement all its own and a credit to American go-fast cars. Let the idiot Europeans fight it out and knock each other down to get to the trophy. The fastest sedan is a temporary title anyway.

I've re-read everything that the major auto mags and bloggish web sites have to say, and I have the answer: none of them has a more definitive idea of what the new CTS-V will be than we do.

The only things they seem to be really good at is stating conflicting promises and stating them with gravitas. In the fall of 2008, I expect they'll also be pretty good at not admitting they were wrong.

Can the V really be AWD with the engine set that far back? I'm to the point where I don't care anymore. It won't have as much power as it could, or should.

Haha...That's a V6 model, not the the V-Series. Pop the plastic cover off a 3.6L and that's what you see.

V6!! Yeah. I think you are correct Tony. It doesn't have the mesh grill either. Has the standard CTS grill.
