As far as the no way 59k because of logic saying its only 53k now. I don't think so. I got a Z06 in 01 base price was 49k option out at about 53k and only rose 2-3k over the next 3 years. Then the new model with a ton more power and a host of improvements came in a 68k and now over 70k so yes there is a posibility you will see a price jump on the new V..... I don't like the idea of a 60+k V but if its great then it will be well worth it. So don't be suprised of a 59k sticker... |

You have to look model year to model year. Caddy won't jump from 53 to 59. |
There was a 15K+ bump in msrp from the C5 TO C6Z06..
How fast you want to go is directly proportionate to how much you're willing to fork out.THe LS2 is a utility engine found in several platforms,so not really exclusive. If they do build this car like everyone on this board(me included)is hoping for it will be every bit of 70k,and they will sell every one for sticker. The general learned how to hold gross with the C6Z because of the blistering performance and low production.

That ain't much of a beating.

I have sold 4 company 2006 Z06's for $59-$62500. I will hope to get the same kind of savings on company V's. No word yet on the price. When we find out I will pass it on.
Thanks
David

David | By company - do you mean your company, or do you mean a corporate-owned V (as in, my company car).
I got less than invoice as a fleet purchase on the Escalade. For the V, I got something like sticker minus 1k. But, I bought an '05 as soon as they were available. I Just figured it was the price of admission for a new model, bought when I wanted it - not a year later.
I expect to do the same thing when the new one comes out.
Unlike people say on the M5 forums, I cross-shopped this car with M5's. At the time, BMW was between models, and lightly used M5's were asking more than they paid a year before, mostly because new ones were unavailable, and there was a big price increase to the revamped M5.
If I had to buy a new car today, it would be an M5. For tax reasons, it is possible I'll have to do that by the end of the year.
However, if the news is good on the new V (as in similar or better performance to the M5, better interior than present, and you can actually use the power w/o destroying the car), then I'd jump in at a price point that is 10-15k less than an M5 (which would put it at 65-70).
I don't get the "60k is too much because it's American" idea. It all depends on what you get for that money. Given the other option (M5) is 85k, 65 still seems like a bargain.
One thing that would be a cool addition to the purchase of a V, and possibly add to the exclusive feel, is a trip to driving school included, like the M5 does. If you buy an M car, you get a trip to the Performance Driving School in SC included. That would be a nice benny to add to the V purchase, even if the MSRP went up a little to cover it. |

Attn GM (if you are listening), keep this car in exclusive company: no clutch, no V!
DSG is fine and well, but lets keep it traditional!

Offer a slush box. I won't buy one but if they offered it they'd double their sales and I could have a 500 hp '09 V a lot cheaper.
If you want exclusive, buy a Maserati.

My fear is that after a couple years, almost all cts-v will be automatics, and you wont find a manual.
But then I just bought my V, I have no intentions in buying a second gen. So none of this even matters to me really. |
