Does anyone have any pics of a clean install of a laser jammer (bel rx75 or escort sr7) and where they mounted the hardware. I found a V on Ebay with a pretty ugly install (no offense, if the owner is a member here)
yeha, that car has some oddities.. the speaker/ door install is terrible (again, no offense if you are here), and the backup camera is just out there... wow..
I do like the way the screen was molded into the center stack. A bit low for practical viewing (and does the shifter hit it), but not soo bad...
Where did you see a jammer? Am I missing something? I see the passport in the cluster (and there was someone recently who installed a V1 remote display in the cluster pod), but I dont see a jammer (unelss I am blind)...
The best laser jammer is The Blinder. It works -well. The link below shows field tests. I have mine installed so that the alarm horn is below the steering column and is highly audible. The alarm light is in an air vent and the on/ off switch is in the ashtray. Unlike the car in the link, my transmitters are mounted behind the upper grill and cannot be seen, I have researched this extensively and this is not only the best solution but also the most stealthy.
I agree...that V has some rather strange upgrades. The jammers are the two black transmitters on either side of the lower grill by the fog lights...way too obvious
Vdrenaline: Do you have any pics of the location of your transmitters? Doesn't the grill block most of the signal that the shifter emits? Thanks for the link to jammersstore...but I would never buy off a place that sells rocky mountain products!!!
I have the Escort SR7 installed with the lidar sensors. One of the best radar detectors I have ever owned. Display mounted to the left of the sunroof control and lidar/laser sensors mounted at the top of the inside of the grill. Everything is well hidden. Check the pics.

The black bars on the ebay car are the sr7 detectors, not jammers right? I checked and saw no jammer...
Ok, this could be like asking if you believe in the boogie man, but has anyone had a jammer work for them or have experience (first hand, not lab tests). I had a radar jammer once that didnt, so I just want to get someone's experience here... Will a jammer interfere with the V1?
"Illegial"is such a harsh way of putting it. Perhaps "potentially interfering with the intent of the municipality to generate revenue" would be accurate - see this way it doesn't sound so bad.:bouncy:
its a lidar jammer, not radar. Lidar jamming is legal....and many of the new Infinitys have active lidar in their grills for cruise control separation. Radar jamming is very illegal in all 50 states.
I just read somewhere that any jamming of police signals (as regulated by the FCC) is a felony... I did some research after this thread came about. Its illegal to jam radar and laser in all 50 states from what I read (I read quickly)

You can jam laser and be legal, but not actual radar. I have heard nothing but good things with the Blinder M-20, was thinking about getting one for the bike and car. Considering I just got a ticket last time home in Houston, being hit by laser. At least I can get it taken care of, just have to show to court, but that is a pain in the A$$. Either way I am looking into getting the new bel RX 65 and the blinder for both vehicles.
Radar/laser detectors are legal for use in all states except Virginia and Washington, D.C. Their use is prohibited on U.S. military reservations, as well. Commercial trucks are prohibited from using any radar/laser detector. Possession and use of a radar jamming device is prohibited nationwide. Radar jamming devices, whether passive or active, are regulated by the FCC and they do not issue licenses for such devices.
There are no federal laws restricting the use of laser jammers as lasers are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. However, some states may regulate their use. The use of laser jammers is currently prohibited and/or restricted in California, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Utah. Check your local laws before installing any laser shifting/blocking/jamming device.
I have had 4 real world instant-on, point-blank laser encounters where The Blinder has sucessfully defeated police laser targeting.
The mounting location behind the grill has not impeded the jammer effectiveness in any way.
The Blinder is the best laser jammer. Do your research and you will come to the same conclusion.
The way to use any jammer laser or radar (and they are vastly different) is to let it do its job of jamming while bleeding off speed as quickly but unobtrusively as posible (be smooth). As soon as you are down to a legal speed, switch off the jammer and let the person targeting you get a reading.
I use a Valentine One because it is the best radar AND laser detector available. I also use The Blinder to jam laser. I do have a radar jammer and IT DOES WORK, but its an old one that must sit on the dash, so I don't use it much.
The Blinder does not interfere with the V1 in any way. The radar (not laser) jammer can make the V1 sound a radar alarm if both the V1 and the radar jammer are too near each other, but a little time spent positioning them properly will prevent that. I will soon be buying a Scorpion radar jammer which can be remote mounted.
Will post pics of The Blinder install, but its just common sense. Put the parts where they can't be seen by the untrained eye.
The most effective set up at this point in time is as follows: 1) V1 Radar/Laser detector mounted as high as possible, 2) The Blinder Laser detector and jammer (front and rear transmitters), 3) The Scorpion radar jammer, 4) a good anti-photo license plate and 5) no front license plate (I have been driving without a front plate for 25+ years and have never received a ticket for this. Plus its a non points ticket, so who cares?)
I found a pic of a BEL RX-75 installed into the ashtray...looks ultra clean and I would love to know how the guy did it. I take many small trips...in and out of the car quite frequently and I just hate taking my RX65 on and off the windshield...and don't even get me started on the location of the lighter!!!

Mike Valentine refuses to allow his product to be sold through distribution. The only way to purchase a V1 is to purchase it through the manufacture. I can let you in on a secret.. You can call them and ask to be put on the waiting list for a refurbished V1 and save 10%. Their refurbs are basically brand new units and come with the same warranty.
I personally own one that I mostly use for testing and although the arrows are nice I really dont like the unit. No Automute, No Voice Alerts, Falses Alot, They Junk real signals at times, etc. If you drive in the city you will not like this detector compared to the competition but if you drive mostly highway its a good unit for you.

From the legality point, anything you do that interfers with the LEO from performing his or her duty becomes illegal, even if it is an action that by itself is not illegal. So jamming any signal that is used in the performance of their duty is illegal. Kinda one of those catch all laws like operating in an unsafe manner, speeds too fast for existing conditions etc. etc.

That's why I just ordered the Lidatek LE-30. It only jams for 5 seconds, then allows the LEO to get a reading. I'll be making a trip up to Chicago this weekend and will have it tested by my brother, who is an Illinois trooper.
