It is set up different than the BMR. You need to have some flex in there or it will just snap stuff off.
First thanks for all of your insight on step by step prcedure on EVERYTHING. I wish I could have brought my car there, but things happen. Are you referring to the BMR or Kars?
I hear a clunking just about every shift, mostly when I push the clutch in and at release of the clutch. More sounds like engaging or getting to the proper angle. It's more pronounced then ever before.

The klunk is caused by drivetrain slop. The biggest culprit is the front bushing on the idfferential, followed closely by blown motor mounts. get those fixed, and a HUGE chunk 'o yo klunk B gone!
Son of a...when did the new style diff come out? And can the new bushing be put in an old style diff? Just had my rear diff replaced a month or two ago and the clunk is loud as ever.
The only real difference is the pinion housing, you can see how the seal is hidden behind the shield on the newer style. This design showed up right around the first of this year.
This could strengthen the pinion housing I guess, they didn't tell me why they did the change.
Maybe just to protect the seal better? Who knows?
You mean the coupler on the trans or the carrier bearing?
I mean the carrier bearing. Does it make alot of noise on it's own?
So when you replace the pinion seal, you replace the entire housing as well as the seal?
Also, on the old style diff pic, that bushing doesn't even look keyed. Did they make them like that at one point or is that one just wore out? Even my old original 2004 diff had the keyed piece in the diff mount. My newer diff has the key hole style mount as well, and it was quiet at first, now it clunks like the old one did.
I have only had one carrier bearing make noise, it was actually on this car. It might move around but it doesn't make noise, that I have noticed.
Actually no, you don't replace the housing, but you do put a new design seal and yoke in place, those have the updated seals installed in the old style photo.
The new pinion housing only comes on the new style diff.
The bushing looks different because in the first photo the diff is still in the car, you can really only see part of the bushing and the metal of the frame for the throughbolt.
It is the same.
The top one you can see is tearing on the bottom but it isn't "bad" yet.
