Anyone thought of trading in V???

Assuming the car is in excellent condition, they could EASILY get $30K+ for that car. I JUST bought my 2006 CTS-V with 23K miles for $30K from a Caddy dealer. CERTIFIED at that. That was a huge lowball assuming the car is in excellent condition.

They are really low balling you. They should give you what they are bringing at the auction. Here is an example of the latest list:

trade-in values are regional; plus not alot of demand for used cars that get 15-18 mpg when gas prices are threatening to hit $4/gal

oh, and the easy solution is dont trade it in; keep it forevah

You can enter in fake info for name, phone, etc.

Says $23k-$28k for an 06 V with 20k miles. And thats black book trade in value. So I'd expect them to give you like 25 or so.

dealers rarely use the blackbook value, they usually go by mannheim (sp?)auction sales. I took my 04 V in mint condition with 20k miles on it (pretty damn low mileage) in september to 5 area dealerships the highest trade in I got was for 21,600. Mainly due to the new cts body style that came out, older body style prior to 2008 has dropped dramatically, even though it is a V and not a regular CTS. Just wait til the new V comes out, I'm sure ours will drop a few more... The funniest thing is when I went to carmax, they told me 20k trade in value, i pulled up an 05 with 46k miles that they were selling for 29k...i showed him the printout and asked why a newer car with more mileage was being sold for 8k more than what they were willing to offer me on mine..... his blank stare and lack of words didnt' help at all... needless to say i did not end up taking the Range Rover Sport (loaded and supercharged) off their hands and walked... i'm a V guy for life

Dealerships use a mix between black book and Manheim Market Report (MMR). In MOST cases cars are traded for between rough and average condition in the black book and about 1000.00 under MMR.
