How to stop door chime for drivers door

Does any one no how I can turn off the door chime while the ignition is in accessory mode? I like like to listen to music while cleaning the car but cannot stand the door chime when the drivers door is open?

Thanks

Re: How to stop door chime for drivers door

It sounds like you have it in the ON position, not Accessory. ON powers up the radio and DIC, but not the Dash lights and A/C. Turn the key one more position to Accessory and the door chime should ring three or four times, then stop.

Re: How to stop door chime for drivers door

Leave door closed, roll down the window. Problem solved.

p.s. -- Having completely drained my 2008 CTS's battery by leaving the switch in accessory position over night, I wouldn't consider turning off the chime. In fact, I've turned up the volume to high so I will be less likely to ignore it. BTW, I have keyless.

There is a wire you can remove at the door latch to tell the network that the door is not open. If you are able to work on cars I can walk you through. E mail me if you need help. ctvs8@aol.com

20 gauge might work, but it will be messy. Not responsible for collateral damage.

Latch the door latch with the door open.
Take a small screwdriver and stick it in where the striker would go and latch it until it clicks twice.
Before closing the door pull the release handle and it will pop back open.
I do this a lot for draw testing and if I have to have the door open for some types of work with the key in.
