2009 18" Wheel Constraint

The dealer tells me my order is held up on a constraint on the 18" wheels, both flavors. Can anyone out there confirm this is a real issue, not them blowing smoke? Affecting anyone else?

Same problem I had back in March. They keep running out of the wheels.

Not sure about a constraint since I took delivery of my 09 last week. It was 2 months early so clearly it didn't hold my car up. I have the 18" polished aluminum.

I ordered my '09 CTS last Thursday and was also told the 18" painted wheels with the PDR package were constrained. Darn!

BTW, this is a great site and I have learned so much here just by lurking. I hope that I will be able to offer some constructive help to others as time goes by.

Can't they swap the wheels from one of the other cars in inventory?

In theory, yes. But the 18" wheels are part of a larger option package that includes headlamp washers, a specific suspension, and the front fog lamps. So he's paying for much more than just the wheels.

And since the car isn't even built yet, it would be hard to swap wheels with anything.

When they going to let us order without wheels? I need a wheel delete option, I'll bring my own to the dealer for pickup

OK, now the 18" Wheels are off constraint, but they tell me the compact spare is constrained and they want to delete it and order it later. I'd rather just have a full sized spare anyway, but I'm concrned that:

1) Will a full size spare fit in the spare well? I assume so but...
2) Will I get a jack if I don't get the compact spare? Can I order this afterwards? ALong with any materials needed to secure it in the well?
