FYI Magnaflow DOES NOT FIT AWD!!!

Sooooo after giving up on Corsa finally (they shelved the program for now) I ordered a Magnaflow Now all was well and good even though it took a week longer to ship out than we were told but we get the kit here today get the stock exhaust off and poof no way will this fit. I have to say I'm pretty pissed, nowhere in ANY literature does it say RWD only yet this was definately designed for a RWD car as it runs right into the transfer case :\

I put a call into Magnaflow "tech" and they said they would call me "right back" that was about oooh six hours ago. So here is a heads up to all of you with AWD

Re: FYI Magnaflow DOES NOT FIT AWD!!!

It's not uncommon for exhausts to be different between the AWD and RWD. Heck- back in my MX-5 days, the exhausts were different between the Auto and Stick.

I'd suggest chopping the factory pipes behind the AWD transfer case and adding flanges to bolt the Magnaflow onto (or just slip fit it and weld it up). It really only amounts to an extra $50-$100 in labor.

Re: FYI Magnaflow DOES NOT FIT AWD!!!

That sucks. It was no easy fit on my RWD. The cat flanges were dimpled and we had to reshape them to get the exhaust to seal up correctly. Also had to weld the resonators togethter because they were such a tight fit!

I knew they were different but an exhaust designed for the AWD will fit the RWD just fine (from the specs I just got) so there is no reason for the fitment issues. Magnaflow didnt even know they MADE an AWD CTS LOL Also, I'm just going to send it back unless they want to pay for the extra labor, I shouldnt have to modify a product that radically to fit

Re: FYI Magnaflow DOES NOT FIT AWD!!!

Modifications:

They're always backordered.
They always get lost in the mail.
They never fit right.
They always need to be bent/cut/stretched to fit.
They cause more problems than they're worth.

It's what we CTS-V guys refer to as "Mod Hell". (but it's still fun )

It is my raison d'etre. Sorry, but I don't know how to accent in French.
