I have an 08 Corvette that is a weekend car, and I have an 08 CTS. I would not be happy with the CTS without the Corvette. If I were looking to replace the two and go to just one car, it would have to have more balls.
Depending on price range you want to spend, I'd go for a new Pontiac G8 GT, a Chrysler 300 SRT-8, a BMW 335 or wait on the new CTS-V. The CTS-V will likely be hard to buy for less than $70k, and if you can afford that there are some other interesting cars I'd be happy with as well - like a BMW M3, Lexus ISF, or Mercedes C63. Now those would be fun!

That is an excellent point; go for a performance sedan and you'll be happy both ways! I have been thinking the same thing actually, looking at getting a C63 AMG in the future that'll satisfy both the 4 door AND performance requirement
I presently own a C6 and a C2 Corvette. After I put 22s on my 08 CTS I hardly take my Vettes out. The performance of the 08 CTS is not like my 540 ci 66 C2 or C6 but then I never wanted it to be that way.
I am very happy with the 08CTS once I pimped it out a little. Lay back and cruise... all is good! Its a BMF
Thanks for all of your responces, My c6 is black and I live in the northwest, not a good combo for 9 months a year. I rotate cars pritty quick (12-18 mo.) and I doubt the c6 will be my last vette, it's too good a car. The pontiac is too plain for me, I really like the looks of the cts. If cadillac would have put a na v8 in it, it'd be perfect. As for a "v", well, I do still need to save for retirement.....a little out of my price range. I'll see how I feel in the fall, after corvette season. Any advice on a good dealer up here?

I have to agree with you. As awesome as the new CTS-V is going to be, it's a lot of bucks. I'd love to see them drop in the LS3 with 402 hp (Just happens to be what they are putting in the new Pontiac G8 GXP) with a six speed automatic and the same suspension packages as currently offered. It would seem to me that they could do this for a very moderate upcharge.
